Casa del Angel is a charming guest house located high on a hill overlooking the center of Cuernavaca, Morelos in a safe working class neighborhood. It is a short 10 minute taxi ride from the Zocalo (Main Square) and two blocks above the beautiful Chapultepec Ecological Park. We offer comfortable rooms with private baths, beds with quality linens, cable TV in both Spanish and English. High speed wireless internet connection is available within the house and garden and is free. Guests have the use of our sparkling warm water hot tub. The roof garden of the house (with 365 degree views of Cuernavaca) is also perfect for sun bathing and relaxing. Everyone above the age of 18 is welcome at our guesthouse.

    Cuernavaca is located one hour and 45 minutes southwest of Mexico City and 3 hours from the beaches of Acapulco.  It is a 16th century colonial town that sits at an elevation of approximately 5,000 feet and with its year-round Spring like temperatures is considered to be one of the best climates in the world.

     Casa del Angel is owned by the Interior Designer and Chef Billy Cross and his partner, the painter Joaquin Dominguez. Billy was co-founder and owner, with the late Michael James, of the Great Chefs of France Cooking School at the Robert Mondavi Winery in the Napa Valley of California.  He worked for many years as an assistant to Simone Beck, the co-author with Julia Child of Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Volumes 1 and 2.  He is a consultant to hotels, restaurants and the staffing of private homes in Mexico, USA, Europe and Asia.  Also, he is an interior designer for private and commercial clients.  He has owned guest houses and cooking schools in many areas of Mexico including the states of Baja California, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and Quintana Roo and  in Mexico City. 

     Casa del Angel is part of a large property owned by Joaquin's mother, Dona Maria Dominguez de Zagal.  Dona Maria bought this property in the 1950’s.  She allowed Joaquin and Billy to buy a piece of her property and they have remodeled the original house into what has become Casa del Angel Guest House.   Guests have full use of the house and rooms are cleaned daily.

Transportation from Mexico City Airport to Cuernavaca

This has now become very easy, safe, quick and inexpensive. There is a new bus terminal inside the Mexico City airport.  After clearing customs ask a porter to take you and your bags to the Pullman de Morelos bus stop.  Pay 145 Mexican Pesos (subject to change) for your one way ticket.  If you don’t have any pesos just ask the porter to stop at an ATM machine on your way to the bus stop.  Recommended to tip the porter 3-5 dollars depending on the number of bags. The trip takes one hour and 40 minutes.  The buses are new Volvo deluxe coaches with the services of a stewardess and bathrooms on board.
